Open all the year Chateau-Chesnel recently hosted an English group of Morgan enthusiasts.

Has the international reputation of Chateau-Chesnel been confirmed overseas? Always it is the tourist attraction which receives the most British visitors amongst those interested in places and their local products. The last of such visits took place on Friday 10th September: twenty two English visitors from Norfolk and Suffolk, areas North East of London, all members of the Morgan Sports Car Club, carefully parked with great precision their magnificent, many hued, Morgans in front of the entrance railings of the Chateau. Marie-Helene de Roffignac graciously received them and showed them around the Chateau.

The group are staying in France for a week to explore the Cognac region and across to the Atlantic coast. They are staying at the Bed & Breakfast La Rose des Vents, at la Tacherie de Mons, owned by Lyn & Graham Peek who are licensed to arrange itineraries during their holidays for vintage cars of all makes and from all countries.

The Beautiful English invited to the Chateau.

A beautiful procession has, for the past few days, been driving around the roads of the Cognafc region. Few are those who have not crossed paths with these beautiful English people on a visit to this area. Twelve Morgan sports cars and their owners 'so British' are exploring the Charente to discover all its inherent riches.

Chateau-Chesnel, jewel of local architecture, did not escape these visitors who come from Norfolk and Suffolk, counties to the North of London. All members of the Morgan Sports Car Club these car loving enthusiasts were led by Lyn and Graham Peek who, four years ago, settled at La Tacherie where they have opened a Bed and Breakfast establishment.

The opportunity was too good for this English couple, themselves members of this same club, to organise these itineraries and so enable the discovery of their adoptive area and its specialities. Marie-Helene de Roffignac guided in English the visit to the Chateau. Before leaving they were able to taste various cognacs, in moderation, and also the famous cocktail 1822, produced on the Chateau's estate.
