3 WeelerSeries 1 4/4Well here we are Christmas has come and gone as has New Years Day. I hope everyone had as excellent a season as we did. Our daughters visited for what seemed to be an instance and we all drank too much and ate too much. All of which are traditional pursuits at this time of year. For us it started quite early in December with the Folkmog trip to the Fur and Feather, Woodbastwick. It was quite a long journey for us coming up from the depths of Suffolk on what was a bitterly cold day. The journey was well worth it as we had time for a quick look at the village, which is charmingly rustic, before we pressed on to the pub. The Fur and Feather is effectively the brewery tap of Woodfords brewery and the beer is all the better for that.

the car parkAs usual we all met in the car park and a general chat ensued that we were forced to cut a bit short as it was sooooo cold. There were a fair number of Morgans in attendance although several members had decided to come in their tin tops. I think a combination of cold and salt on the roads may have had a lot to do with their decision. Best of all were Simon Rayfield’s 3 wheeler and Ian Warner’s Series 1 4/4 had made the trip and the day for some of us.

munching lunchAs I said we quickly retired to the pub on account of the cold and the beckoning beer. The food was excellent as well and the whole event had a real Christmas feel to it. So for us it kicked started our season of good will to all men.

munching lunch againThis marks the end of 2008 Morganeering and excellent year it has been as well. There have been some brilliant meetings and excellent Gymkhana great holiday in France and some major changes in the structure of the centre. Lets all hope for a brilliant 2009 even if the economic climate has driven me back to work again. There are certainly some good things to look forward to on the FolkMog front with a long weekend in Sussex, another Gymkhana and a navigation test. All of this will be previewed on this site. So have fun everyone and a very Happy New Year.
